Flash fans will remember when Barry traveled to Earth 2 and met himself, a non-speedster version that had married Iris and worked in the crime lab. Ever since, the question of the doppelgangers has been a fun and interesting source for crossovers and a vehicle to bring back past deceased characters. Of course, so far we are only aware of Flash's and Arrow's Earth (Earth one), Dr. Harrison Wells' Earth (Earth two) and Supergirl's Earth (which we affectionately call Earth-K, being a universe that Krypton exploded.) So did Krypton explode in the Flash and Arrow's universe? Did Kal-El even make it to Earth? Is Kara on Earth but has not chosen to embrace her powers yet? Andrew Kreisberg (executive producer) had this to say from an article in Entertainment Weekly:
[Is there a Kara Danvers on Earth-1? Could we meet her on The Flash?] Yes, but … any Kara that exists on Earth 1 would also have to have been an alien. It can’t just be Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie. [Does that mean she could be a potential super (or maybe a power) girl on his Earth, too?] Sure, different costume, but sure.
