Tomorrow is the CBS portion of the Up-fronts. You might have been hearing that "May 13th is the day!", or "We get to see the trailer on the 14th!". While tomorrow certainly does hold some major importance, we want to help clarify what all is happening with this "Up-fronts" thing.
First, what the heck are the Up-Fronts?
In the North American television industry, an up-front is a meeting hosted at the start of important advertising sales periods by television network executives, attended by the press and major advertisers. It is so named because of its main purpose, to allow marketers to buy television commercial airtime "up front", or several months before the television season begins. ~wikipedia
Basically, this event is for advertisers who want to see what the networks are offering as product. More accurately, they are looking at the shows as vessels to carry their advertising message. Just like the television audience, these businesses are also super excited and overjoyed with powerful trailers and 'super' announcements. That's why we as fans get the benefits of the event!
So, tomorrow we are guaranteed to see nothing. Whether you've heard that the trailer is going to be shown for certain or that we'll know when Supergirl is going to air, how long, and for how many episodes ... nothing is for sure. That said, Tomorrow is going to be so exciting. Why hold a major advertising event where you can potentially make huge sales then stop and hold all your cards close to the chest. If we were betting folks, our money would be on some great news tomorrow, especially media. That might be more photos, trailers, or even the cast on stage (we know for a fact Chyler Leigh is in New York right now), expect something new and fun tomorrow!
Of course, if you want to get all the news from tomorrow there is only one convenient, advertisement-free location to get it all and get it first! Just keep hitting that refresh button on Supergirl.tv!
Tonight's post wasn't really a news story, but we felt it was important to clarify what is going on. Its too easy to report on a strong rumor as fact and unfortunately the readers suffer when things don't come along. While chances are great that we will see everything we want tomorrow, its important to know how and why that may be true. Hope this helps and gets you guys revved up for tomorrow! We certainly are!
