WB Affiliate Store

Thank you all for your support on this. Your willingness to have the store added without discounts makes us feel very valued and loved. That said, I think Kelsey and I want to hold out and see if we can't have our cake and eat it too. January could bring the opportunity for site member discounts and we'd rather wait to bring that benefit then jump right in!

I agree. As long as nothing much changes with the site, I have absolutely no qualms with you guys making a couple of nickles off the deal, even if that means no discount for the members. Our payment is having this place to get info on the show and converse about Supergirl.

I second Sully's and others comments. If it helps you out and does not affect the SupperGirl TV sit, then go for it!

Would this lead to business with online sellers like Entertainment Earth, or even...Amazon?

Hey everyone, just wanted to give an update. I met with a representative today. Right now the affiliate program has paused on giving discounts to users because of the Holiday season. Per our mission statement, Kelsey and I have decided not to move forward until the store can give the users a discount as well as a percentage per sale for the site. We strongly believe that if it isn't a value for you, then it isn't Supergirl.tv worthy.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and your thoughts. We have accepted a meeting with WB to discuss this next week. We will NOT allow the site to have any advertisements or pop ups. This will likely be a new link on the site. Should anyone have issues with it, we can always cancel. Kelsey and I think you for your continued patronage and support!

As others have stated, as long as it doesn't affect the way the site works and I'm not having to constantly close-out pop-up advertisements, I don't have any problem with it. And if it's a way for you guys to get a little money from it and possibly grow the site, it sounds like a good deal. I most likely wouldn't purchase anything but, I'm sure others will.

Very cool that WB approached you. As long as you two think the link is unobtrusive I don't see why not. It's a win/win members get a discount and you get a cut. I doubt I'll personally buy anything but that doesn't mean others shouldn't be able to at a discount.

It couldn't hurt.

It gives the WB some first-hand true fan exposure and it also has the potential to boost this site's visibility. This also applies to the sister sites as well.

Provided that this and the sister sites adhere to their original mission statement (free to use and contribute to), then having the WB place a banner or link to its merchandising is fine. It would then be up to the individual site user or passer-by to decide if they wish to purchase something from WB.

If it is successful, it will help keep your various fan sites going financially and will provide you with a potentially bigger share of WB-related traffic.

My only concern is that the WB site makes its sales "only available to US residents or US addresses." If they allow for international purchases (at the purchaser's expense, of course - I.e. exchange rates and shipping costs), then I'd suggest you should go for it.

I agree with everyone else. It’s testament to the professionalism and hard work that you place into this site that you’ve been approached by WB. I say go for it!

If it's WB, it's pretty cool, and I wouldn't mind. The trouble comes with sites that have adds everywhere. But I think this is a good opportunity for you folks.
