Title: Damage (Originally titled Two Rings)
Directed By: Kevin Smith
Air Date: November 6th, 2017 8pm The CW

Mostly a good episode.
Edge is developing into a "good" villain - by that I mean he is appropriately evil and schemes well. Lena is developing as a good character too. The story was better than the last few weeks.
Let's move on from all the soap opera stuff - finally.
Seeing what they are doing with Reign is a slow burn. That could be really good.
Overall about a 5/10 for me. Especially since the last two episodes were 2/10 or so.

What do you think we change Amazing Episode to Excellent. My thoughts are that Best in 20 is amazing. I think excellent conveys more the thought you want. I would raise Very Good to a B+. I might have rated this one Excellent if given that option. I also agree that 7 options are enough.

Thoughts?

I believe this was a very good episode. Clearly, well acted, I am enjoying all the characters. Adrian Pasdar plays a wonderful villain and is a great add to the show. There is a lot of built in tension this season with Sam, Lena, Morgan, and Kara. I think they are delivering the goods and doing a good job at it. Are the writers producing an Emmy Award script? No. But they are delivering a very good one and I must note that this Season’s is far superior to last’s.

I think points, such as James being thanked by Lena is being picky. But note, that he offered Lena the option to call her Jimmy. Remember “only the big guy and his mother “get to call him that!

So questions of strength, and other issues I am not going to address. It was a darn good episode filled with a degree of tension.

Now for Alex and Maggie. There was no real good option to end this, considering Floriana’s wish to move on. So the writers had lemons and they made the best of making lemonade. I still believe it will open greater opportunities to explore the gay community in a positive light.

Again, this was a very good episode, but I don’t like the current poll grading. A very good is better than a “B” and I think “A” should be excellent instead of Amazing. To me Amazingly is the equivalent of a 5.0. Eric, can we come up with a better scoring system? This one deserved better than a B, but I would not term it amazing.

Again, it was on target for a far superior season than last, and one that honors season 1.

I'm open to suggestions. I would like to keep the scale at around 7 options.
You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

So, apparently, Kara is so happy with her sister that she wants everyone to have a sister. :)

That is what I got from the episode.

Also: I really like Sam. I think I will miss Odette when she leaves. And, I do like Edge. He seems actually challenging.

The show has succeeded in building up a villain that you grow to care for I guess.

I also wanted to add something about the Alex-Maggie breakup. I have known a number of couples who broke up over the issue of having children. So, I see this as a real world issue for Alex and Maggie. I think the writers came up with a good solution when Floriana decided to leave the show. Unfortunately, they have crammed the issue because of the short time frame.

In terms of the series this is actually a great episode. The friendship between Kara and Reign feels like watching Obiwan and Anakin, which is awesome.

I'd like to differ with the review in that I think breaking up Sanvers was a good and timely idea. Whereas the reviewer believed Sanvers added to the show, I thought it detracted on the long run

Pretty much what I think.

Still, even the worst of this season is a whole magnitude beyond last season in quality, so the streak is still good.

The part that Kevin Smith sent Chris is from the swimming pool scene.

Ho ho ho.... PLOT twist there at the end. Woop woop!

Good episode.

DagNABit, I'm loving Sam!!! When it starts to Reign, it's gonna POUR!!... my emotions RIGHT outta my heart, all over the floor in a sloppy mess.

Good news....Ruby didn't bug me tonight.

The Alex and Maggie side story just felt out of sorts.

Anyone wanna start guessing what it was Kevin Smith sent Chris of Melissa that they watched and rewatched? My guess was her facial reaction when Lena was drunk and interrupted Kara. She just did a twitch of her nose and eyes, and slight movement of her head. Made ME rewind, anyways. lol

My second guess was her awesome glare through the windshield. lol But... Still think it was her reaction to Lena :p

Me too, I think Reign will be the first villain that will tear my heart in two because of what happens to her, not what she does.

Really enjoyed the episode. Wasn't real impressed with the Maggie/Alex stuff until the very last scene between the two. The sudden loud music was weird....but that is now in Alex's review mirror....can't wait to see who and what is in store for her in the future.

Anyone happen to know how soon after an episode airs that it is available on Amazon?

I am eastern standard time and I receive an email at 3am stating the episode is available on Amazon.

I am bummed tonight as storms passed through central Ohio Sunday night leaving us powerless. I rented a motel room for myself and my 86 year old Mom so she would be warm. The motel channel selection doesn't include CW! I may turn into a worldkiller before 3am!

The CW is not available through my cable provider. I've watched the first four on Amazon but, they had already long since aired when I watched so, I'm not certain on the time frame.

Thanks ahead of time.

It’s avalable the next day on iTunes and the CW app so I would assume it would be the next day on amazon as well.

As to how late in the day I think the CW app happens pretty early (I’ve watched missed episodes in the middle of he night and I’m on Pacific time) but I tunes could be into the morning of the next day. Not sure where amazon falls.

Okay so I am wondering who Supergirl herself is going to be battling outside of this and it Is obviously not going to be big, but we did see a battle scene in the trailer. In the trailer Lena holds a gun up to Morgan Edge which makes me wonder if he did something more then just ruin her reputation. Maybe threatened somebody she cared about? Maybe Kara? Maybe even Sam? And on the topic of Sam I can not wait to see them bond more so when Sam slips into the fall of Reign it will be even more traumatic! This is definitely going to be a good episode!

From the ew.com spoiler room:

What SuperCorp scoop do you have for Supergirl? — Steve

When Morgan Edge sets his sights on Lena, her friendship with Kara will definitely be tested as her Luthor side starts to come out. “Kara is willing and ready to stand up for her best friend by any means possible,” Melissa Benoist says. “Lena’s maybe [on a] slippery slope onto what you could sadly call her birthright. I don’t know for sure, but it is a fragile balance beam that they’re walking on, these two as friends in the way that Lex and Superman had.”

Interesting. I dont think we'll see Lena crossing the line tonight, but maybe later in the season.
